Hello,

I am new to poetry;, it will be a week tomorrow. For whatever reason I just started writing and now I cant stop. To be honest when I started I had no idea what poetry really was, I had no concept of meter or the other mechanics. I look forward to participating here and learning from all of you.

Hi, Chip, welcome. We work on a give, give, give then take basis. Smile If your critiquing skills are rusty you'll find some tips in the important threads of the Novice forum. Jump on in.

Welcome. If you read your welcome letter it explains how to get started, and just click on each forum name for the rules for each. Hope you enjoy the site.

Greetings all!

I found this forum and am quite happy I did!  I've just started exploring and once I feel I've understood how things work well enough, I will start giving feedback.  I have never been good at it, as I find I don't explain myself well.  (The whole, "it sounds perfectly logical in my head but when it falls out of my mouth it makes no sense" syndrome)

I have written poetry since I knew what poetry was.  Whether it is any good or not is always up for debate, I take criticism well though.  

Looking forward to getting to know you all!
