Pretty unlikely.

If you want to say you like a poem, tell the poet but more importantly tell them why.

"Whenever I hear talk of the 'like' button I reach for my pistol."  -- Stephen Hawking or Schroedinger or a Cat or Me

Oh oh. Part of the reason for me getting pissed off with wordpress and blog world was the damn like button. At first it was fine then I realised that it was an ego thing, it's nice to be liked, but it's false. How much effort does it take to press the 'like' button? I'm not saying it would be the same here but over in blog world people press it without even reading the post. I did a test, I wrote a post that at the end said, "Please don't like this post, if you do you are a fool".
There are at least 35 fools in the world of wordpress.
Then they added the 'like' a comment feature and it just becomes one huge game of I'll show mine if you show yours. Hmmm I'm not sure about this. Don't take it personally, it doesn't mean I don't 'like' you.

like buttons tend to give poets a false sense of security. people tend to like without reading, then others like because they were liked and pretty soon everyone's stoking each other and going all cooy cooy

A 'safe haven' on the site for plagiarism?
I want to be able to freely plagiarise and say kind words to fellow plagiarisers.
'That's an excellent Inferno, b***y'
'Wait until you see my Hamlet'
'Ah! talk not to me of a name great in story'

Etc.

What do the rules say - is plagiarism ok in the Sewer?

if there was a like button, a comment-y thing should pop up, where the like won't register without comment -- but that'd just be more annoying code, now, wouldn't that?

or a dislike button, lol

I think a like button is a terrible idea for a forum.... It takes the place of thoughtful posts too often

There's an option to rate posts in the myBB code. We deliberately disable it here, because many of us have been on sites where it becomes more about collecting stars than actually thinking about what you're reading/ writing.

On poets.com we used to call them star whores. On Facebook they're probably thumb whores...

My English professor last semester was in the process of writing about how all social media is just a game, where the winner has the most likes. That's what this would become if it was added. (My opinion on this)
If you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room.

Sad to say it's been decided and you will be a thumb whore which, tbh, sounds pretty dirty.
