Anagrammatic Howl
#1
The first line 'I saw the best minds of my generation', is from the Allen Ginsberg poem 'Howl', every other line is an anagram of the first line... It seemed like a fun idea at the time.

I saw the best minds of my generation
magnified by white sonnet maestros
go east with masonry mined benefits.

Years of wont midnight absenteeism
to find geometry in a swish basement
and see tombs from within giant eyes.

Years of twisting beneath demonism
being sainted with masters of money
who train dementia systems of being.

Years of shitting between nomadism,
atheist boogeymen and swift miners
waiting for hymen moistened beasts.

Boys, men, women, the gratified saints,
night seamen, mystified boat owners
absent men, a fish, my winged tortoise.

Feathers, wings, moonbeams - identity,
shifty women debating monasteries,
with badges of "In my sonnets I'm a tree".

Twisted nights of mayonnaise ember,
with badges of "More means intensity..."
and sometimes "Soft biting anywhere."

Many nights of eastern womb deities,
demons bathing in some feisty water,
animated ghosts of wine bent misery.

Shifty men debating women as tories -
who test meanings in motifs by a deer
and bite monsters with foaming eyes.

Sweethearts of immensity and bingo
who informed amnesty beating sites
and wrote fine imagist hymns to bees.

Lots of fun for me, much more interesting than I thought it would be, what a sea of images. My favorite lines after a few reads are "Years of twisting beneath demonism" and "shifty women debating monasteries" but that may change, the whole of it is surprisingly readable, there's a lot I like here and your might use some of it as a springboard. Thanks for posting it, much enjoyed.

This is awesome.
I wish I could say more, but I am just gobsmacked by this game. It is so clever. I already had trouble checking if really every line was an anagramm (...which it is....) and I really, really admire you.

'monsters with foaming eyes' competes with 'imagist hymns to bees' for best lines, for me. I really like what you've done here - Sir Metavariable Loon!

A little bit genius, may I say?

Favourite verse:

Many nights of eastern womb deities,
demons bathing in some feisty water,
animated ghosts of wine bent misery.

Thanks Ella, I like the way that people have their favourite line. The whole thing surprised me also, there a lines that I would never come up with but the letters available forced them upon me and I'm quite pleased they did.
I really like your idea of using part of it as a springboard, I'd not thought of that, but to be honest it would be a waste not to.

Thanks Pyrra... clever perhaps? or some people might say crazy.

Thanks Mercedes, the 'imagist hymns to bees' was also one of my favourite lines, in fact once that whole stanza had formed itself I decided that it had to be last in the poem.
Oh, I never did thank you for the 'Sir Metavariable Loon' tagline. I was sent a pm by a mod asking if I was ok with it to which I replied "Don't you dare change it".
Thank you.

Thanks Achebe, I'll agree with you, but only because I didn't really write it. I was the medium through which it was channelled.
