All best season's greetings to you and yours, billy. Christmas morning in NZ is warm and cloudy, but Santa found his way here. Did you see the full moon last night? Beautiful.

Ha, we're snowless in the northeast too, woohoo.

I hope we all take the opportunity to give or take a hug if it's available. I'm sending each one of you a giant cyberhug. Every one of you who posts here makes this place a pleasure in my life and I appreciate it. So thanks and have a wonderful 2016.

All this Pollyanna crap will only dull your senses to the immense amount of suffering taking
place in this world which is bound to hamper your abilities to slather grim poetry on unsuspecting
relatives who only thought they were going to procure a nice piece of ham or a bit of shrubbery.

Big hugs to all.*

Do you remember the game Monopoly?  They had those "Get Out Of Jail Free" cards.  I think everyone should be issued like two "Get Out Of Christmas Free" cards.  When you cash in one of those cards, all family, society, whatever/whomever abides by it, accepts it unconditionally.  Such a card means at least these things:

1) You don't have to shop
2) You don't have to send Xmas cards to anyone
3) No obligatory holiday phone calls
4) etc...

It doesn't mean you have to be Scrooge, a jerk or anything.  Just that you can be a pleasantly passive observer/participant in it.

This year I would have cashed in one of those cards.

Merry Christmas everyone.
