Age Is Just A Numeral

A decade ago when I turned XXX, life was good,
I felt more powerful than a Roman God.
Everything just seemed to come my way
as if I were some irresistible force able to influence those around me.
I was part cyclone, rotating worlds at will.
Juggling, jostling, jovial, I was indeed Jove.
But now, no more.
Now I'm an old roaming dog who gets grumpy
with fences and sheep and fields, endless fields.
Days seem mostly bad and the remainder
seem to be filled with chronic-unpronounceable Latin.
Although people tell me that I'm mistaken about the 'khronokitus'.
The doc said it was a common misconception to make,
and no matter which way I tried to spell it out, it just wasn't my time,
even if I was XL. XL? Thanks for the reminder.
No wonder people call me saturnine and distant.
Just stay away from me, I'm poisoned,
I'll sink your world like a lead "BAAA!", "Lunatic fucking sheep!"
Why do they keep on scaring the crap out of me?
Why am I scared of sheep?
Perhaps it's true what people keep saying about me,
perhaps I do harbour the Devil after all, but I doubt it.
I may be XL but I'm sure I would notice a loitering Lucifer.
Does anyone have a light by any chance? I'm dying for a smoke.

That's kind of what I was implying. Actually there used to be matches back in the 19th century called 'lucifers', which as well as being quite cheekily named were also quite cleverly named in that 'lucifer' means 'bringer of light'. The planet Venus is known as 'Lucifer' when it is the morning star ie when it rises in the morning always just before the sun and therefore looks as though it 'brings the light'   Some bad PR management led to a rapid descent from being a 'star' into being the 'devil', but that's show business for you.
