From etymology online - a great resource

conception (n.)
early 14c., "act of conceiving," from Old French concepcion (Modern French conception) "conception, grasp, comprehension," from Latin conceptionem (nominative conceptio) "a comprehending, conception," noun of action from stem of concipere (see conceive). Originally in the womb sense (also with reference to Conception Day in the Church calendar); mental sense "process of forming concepts" is late 14c. Meaning "that which is conceived in the mind" is from 1520s; "general notion" is from 1785.

conception: to deposit ones sperm in the correct receptacle in order to create a zygote, or if you are from Oklahoma zygoat.
conception: to conceived, as to give birth to a thought or an idea, as in "That is an erroneous conception." Note: this is not the same as an unplanned pregnancy.

However considering the wealth of definition "conception" has, I do not think that Poe(who was a hack, he should get down on the ground and pray to Coleridge as that was where he got all of his horror ideas from: see Cristobal. Named after one of my cats.) was making anything up, nor was KK (in fact as far as I can tell, Poe never made anything up, besides how he was going to pay his bar tab.). However he (KK) had the erroneous conception that he had...irregardless of what he conceived he thought. ergo, "cogito ergo cogito... cogito? Translation, "I think therefore I think... I think?" However in certain individuals this is an erroneous conception as their thoughts give birth to nothing no matter how much sperm they add to it; or so that is how I conceive it to be, for your conceiving convenience. Off and out (although more off that out).

How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

I think Poe writes a pretty good short story. Or, he wrote some rather. However, that is beside the point. Shouldn't that tiger poem have made it to this thread already.

"Really the only thing you are missing is the invocation of the muse."

Oh muses fat, but sexy, too
Do give me inspiration!
So that of panthers I may write,
and not just perspiration!

There. Muses invoked.
