I shook'em off it didn't take long,
I didn't hear words, I heard a song,
it went like...

Be Bop A Lula Ella's my Baby
Be Bop A Lula I don't mean maybe
Be Bop A Lula El-el-el-el-ella's my Baby, My Baby, My Baby....
scraaaaaatch
She's so fine
(Do-lang-do-lang-do-lang)
Wish she were mine
(Do-lang-do-lang-do-lang)
scraaaaaatch
You're all ribbons and curls, ooh, what a girl,
Eyes that sparkle and shine.
You're ellejam, you're beautiful and you're mine.
(mine, all mine, mine, mine)
You're my baby, you're my pet,
We fell in love on the night we met.
You touched my hand, my heart went pop,
Ooh, when we kissed, i could not stop.

I had a very nice windup that even worked, and some of those really hard records that were semi-transparent and made from different colors (if you used the soft vinyl records they would only work once). My grandmother had one that recorded, and there was a record that had my mother singing in a "trio" when she was a teenager. Since it was half baked to begin with it's all crust in the wind now Smile

Mine works, just needed some tweaking. A few 78s in the cabinet, I Wish I Was in Dixie is the most popular in my house, grins all around. Single use steel needles. Played my Dad's Danny Kaye the other day, felt his spirit bopping. I put babe books and puzzles in the lower cabinet so it's not totally useless. Big Grin

um, poetry forum, um, Danny Kaye sure could say those rhymes fast. Hysterical

Yes! A frozen moment. I made a fruit trifle last week, for the Friday Lunch Club. Decorated it at the last moment - after a few glasses of red - so the arty composition on the top, of mango slices, jelly and jubes, ended up looking like a Kadinsky.

Oh, I can so picture that. Ever see  Duncan's pics of Picasso's fish dinner, my favorite as a kid and maybe now, I'll see if I can find a link. Here is some of the series, you get the idea, grin.
