Nostomania–another word of the day poem

Nostomaniaanother word of the day poem
A PSP-public service poem

Upon arrival I greeted Oberon and Titania,
elation soon turned to nostomania,
I commandeered a boat,
strove to keep it afloat,
‘til I made it home to Catania*.

*Sea port in East Sicily
How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

Like much...sounds like Auberon Waugh....but he did not live in Catania.
Strove is good with "keep" and "afloat". Walking/sailing but it is trying.
Best on Janneau hearing Auden's ghostly plonking in Lord Crewe Arms, Blanchland (1930 apparently)
Best,

I wrote a poem with this as its title Smile great minds think alike

and for some outrageous self-promotion here is the link to it:

Though my grandma was born in Romania
she avoided acute nostomania
by wrapping her thighs
round American guys,
she found them both handsome and brainier.
