Has anyone started a favourite novels thread? If yes, and if I was the one who started it, but, due to my scatterbrained nature, have since forgotten, well, here's another one

I don't really have "favourite" novels, but two that I have found genuinely stunning are The Red and the Black by Stendhal and Anna Karenina by Tolstoy (both in translation).

5 anything novel by terry pratchett.
i know i like others just as much but these won the toss up.
