I think it's a matter of personal choice, gays included. I don't see either as right or wrong, bad or good. There's pros and cons to both types of relationships.
As for women being allowed more than one husband? ... of course ... what's good for the gander should be good for the goose also.
Myself, I prefer a monogamous relationship, primarily because I'm selfish and require/enjoy single intimate attention. I'm also very traditional in my ideas of family life. I've been with my husband for nearly 30 years and have never had a desire to wander as with my partner and I feel great security in our togetherness.

But thats just me. I aint judgemental about peoples prefferences, but I do get slightly pissed with people close to me when they brag about their disregard of traditional 'faithfullness' in relationships. I learned the hard way how destructive it can be.
To cut it short: anything goes as long as noone is harmed in the process. The thing is, that when people fall in love for real, they become very fragile.
ain't that the truth though it seems some even many can cope with a multi marriage. is an open relationship the same as living with more than one person for the rest of your life?

i prefer monogamy but think it's at least okay if it's a multi husband/wife one as well. though the houses would have to be bigger.

My understanding of an open marriage is when you are married to one person but have the freedom within the relationship to sleep with others ... where as within a polygamous relationship you are married to mulitple partners for life.
One would have to be incredibly disciplined to servive such a tangled web. I know for myself just how trying it can be to keep the peace with just one partner let alone serveral partners ... I would imagine the waters could get pretty rough at times. Not only would you have to deal with your husband but all his wives. Gosh ... imagine the cat fights!
We often only here about the problems that arise from such relationships from the adults involved, I wonder how children of these types of relationships feel.

you don't usually know how you react to a situation until you're in it,that counts specially in man, woman relations, that's what makes it"interesting"

should the law see those (groups who live together ) as married.
in the uk we have common law marriage and because of it the women and children have right as though they were married.
