The short version of Ozymandias: very succinct.
I really like the picture too. Did the pull out from the coal mines in Kentucky have anything to do with this? Although the cabin reminds me more of abandoned mines in Colorado.

Silver mine, most of the ones I saw were silver mines. I've been in a number of ghost towns. They were great when I was a kid, but they were already getting looted and destroyed by "hoodlums" aka teenagers

I guess the tour guides were there to keep people from messing with them even more. They always told us not to go inside the buildings, implying it was not safe, but I think it was probably about trying to keep it as pristine as possible.

nicely done, haiga. the words complement the picture and vise versa. this is one of my favorite types of poetry and it's good to read one's interpretation of a picture.

excellent job. I can't read haiku that aren't paired with image(s). That's why most of the forum is bold for me.
wait a fucking a minute...I can search for the photographs myself and post them as a reply.

Lovely picture and pairing. I'm wondering whether "slowly" is needed. Both the context and the picture imply it, and the word seems to bog the whole poem down. Just thoughts.
