brought up in a kids home.
adopted twice, neither worked Confused
spent a little time with my mom off and on
no schooling at all as such.
an odd year in junior and senior here and their but even then
i ran away or played truant (hooky)

learned myself to read from newspapers and old books etc.

as an adult (about 20) i took my english lit, art and maths o'levels and got b's
an o'level is a general certificate of education.

ws asked by my probation officer to do the teaching training college thing but i was already over the edge of criminality so to speak lol. i basically grew up on the streets. my brother took care of me when i need taking care of till i was about 14. after that i was an adult.

now i love to find out new things. if i said what my IQ was i wouldn't be believed Blush.

i split home when i was 15[after a 3 month spell in an observation home]and never looked backBig Grin
the rest sounds remarkably like Bill's if you take out the criminal part exept the drugs which was supposed to be against the law

from my standpoint i think i'm a well rounded person irrespective of my lack of education lol. vf may not agree though Confused my criminal activities are way a thing of the past.

i really do have to admit to enjoying leaning new stuff everyday. i never stop learning.

In the end, it means nothing.
the number of books i read is almost countless lol
at one time i was reading three or four a day. of all the things i've done, reading books has been one of the most beneficial and rewarding.
with them, in them, through them, you can escape, be someone else, learn different perspectives from different things. gain insights and knowledge, see the world or even the universe. books for me were one of the most important things in my life. the feel of the page in a good book is still a turn on for me Smile

Education is the key to the world of knowledge. If a person is educated he has eagerness to know the meaning of the word how and why in each and every matter and thus he gains more and more knowledge.

i'll admit an educated person has the tools to learn.
but for me i don't think it's the key to a world of knowledge
we all gain knowledge with or without education.

well education is a must. many have succeeded
in life with very little state run education.

i do admit you can't beat being shown how to do something properly
before you attempt it yourself Wink
