My Lonely Angel
#1
What do you see before you?
My lonely Angel
Lands swept with sand and blood
Islands of cruel rocks offering the only shelter
Only for men to kill in their shade
Do you see a burnt land?
Peace forgotten by those who dwell there
A land of ash and hate
Or do you see hope?
A single sapling
Emerging from the bones and ash
Soon to spread throughout this dead world
My lonely Angel
How long have you stood there?
Gazing below
Tears in your eyes
Forbidden to act
How did you earn your place amongst the others?
Always reaching out to man
Always hoping for those lost in the seas of blood and bone
While the others only look away
Given up hope for the souls below them
But there you stand
At the edge
My tear stricken Angel
How much longer must you reach out to me?
Arms outstretched
Pleading me to escape
Only to fade away when I am close
Your lips begging
Vanish into the mist
Alone in this grey stone forest
Cold and fear resting in my heart
While you watch my journey from above
My lonely, tear stricken angel

Hello Pig penners. Long time no post. And as always thanks for any feedback.

The rules of the Mild Critique forum state that you must only post if "you post at least one considered, suitably detailed comment on someone else's poem in this or another critique forum before posting a poem of your own". Therefore, I have moved your poem. Since it has been a while since you posted here, you probably ought to refamiliarise yourself with the forum rules / admin
It could be worse

Didn't know that one. Cheers for clearing that up.
