First Poem

This poem means a lot to me right now so please be nice in your critique lol

Bad Decisions Don't End Well

Growing up everyone talked about it.
Looking up to people who did it with no problem.

Dreaming of ways to get away with it.
seemed so simple back then.

They tell you to be careful what you wish for.
I should have cleaned my ears.

The first time was the best.
Only down hill from there.

Not to say every other time was bad.
The feelings just changed.

The more I did it the more I wanted it.
What I had just wasn't good enough.

I began to run away from what was good to me.
Running towards what I knew I wanted.

It's almost over now and it hurts.
Gotta be strong just to stay normal.

The road back to good is messed up now.
Running the other way ruined the path.

With feelings still lingering, I wait.
Waiting sucks when its an everyday event.

Unlike this story the end isn't a simple one-liner.
Only the one who should be hurt the most is the one who ends up happy.

This thread is titled your first poem and I myself am still new to the website, as in about four or five days now haha, and more so to the world of poetry. I enjoyed how you got your subject across and still left it very open for each of the readers own interpretation. In my very novice opinion I would think that making the running away and ruined path portion of this poem a bit more descriptive could help create the same or similar visual in the readers mind as your own. Depending on what you want of course. Just my opinion, hope this helps in any way.
