When I used to sell melons on the beach
#1
Get your watermelons
I shout across the beach
A longed for life of luxury
Sadly out of reach

Come on buy me melons
They're only a pound a slice
I nicked them fresh this morning
They're really very nice

Get your watermelons
And eat them by the sea
A smile is the only thing
That I give out for free

Come on buy me melons
Their heavy and starting to hurt
Me voice the only thing on this beach
That's louder than me shirt.

This was a fun read. I got a sense of attitude slip as if the day is proving a long one and the heat has taken it's toll.
My only sm crit is that the second last line in the final stanza was too long and reads like it could do with a trim.
but overall enjoyed the read.
Thanks for sharing.

I found it works quite well to the tune of Lonnie Donnigan's "My Old Man's A Dustman."
