I just want to say thank you for all the critique and help that this forum have given to me. I was reciting some of my poetry at a school wide art show kind of thing, and afterwards one of my teachers told me that she wants to enter my poetry in a contest. I know it's not a huge accomplishment but I still am very excited. I have also been receiving a LOT of good feed back from friends and strangers alike. I would probably not make much improvement if not for this site. So thank you Pig Pen, Thank you bunches!

From the way you've interacted on the site, getting involved in critique and so forth, people should be thanking you

It's especially rare for school-age folk to want to participate in this kind of workshop environment -- just being prepared to take criticism is a huge step, and one some people in middle-age and beyond never manage to make it to. Having someone like a teacher want to enter you in a contest
is a huge accomplishment. It's validation of all your hard work, which I hope continues for many years to come. Once you start, there's no telling where you'll end up!
It could be worse

it is awesome to hear that your poetry is being summited in a contest. in AP english (my senior year in highschool) i may close to getting one poem published in a widely recognized statewide magazine. but don't count your blessings too high but be ready to smile when you get good news!
