The forgotten joys that are bigger than all the small joys. Seeing a pack of soy sauce, and wanting Chinese food. Certain smells in summer. Having a beautiful woman you haven't seen in a long time coming to you when you're drunk.
I wish I could tell how good it feels listening to Zooey Deschanel sing in the sunlight. Taking a swig of wine near the end of the first song, expecting the second song.

One small thing about this...i felt that the last line was off in that you are telling me how good it feels, so I was thinking it should read ...I wish i could show.
The line of certain smells of summer, gets me off on a train of thoughts and smells, but then so does the soy sauce thing - so true.

I don't think I've been able to tell how good it feels. Let alone show. It would take a dancer for that.
I've tried many times to expain, in words, how I feel. But even listening to her yourself wouldn't allow you to know feel how I feel. There are so many wordless details, from my personal experience. For reasons of place, or time, of self, of so many other things.
Miss Deschanel's voice has been, and her vibrations have been, a subject I've been struggling with for some years now.

I love that first line about "forgotten joys" it says so much without needing to say very much. Also the smells you mention are very evocative, although at the moment I'd be delighted with some spring aromas, but the seasons seem to be running slightly behind shedule this year.
I thought I didn't know who Zooey Deschanel was but after looking up her name, it seems I do. I didn't know she was a singer though. Beautiful thought about using a dancer to explain how you feel.

I wrote another short poem that mentions spring smells. It only has three lines.
I've typed it on my writing machine. This I'm using now is my sister's Internet computer. I like to keep them at a distance.
