winter poem (for newsclippings and rowens)
#21
I'm almost inclined to think that the teaser for that other poem is a tad too fat. To put it in a nutshell: "spring follows winter". The macro-structure* of the whole thing is of course mirroring Vivaldi's quattro Stagioni ( Four Seasons). The only dfference between his composition and mine being, that I start one season earlier than he did.

I must copy edit it anyway but it was good to have all the single parts accumulated in one place. but now I will take the spring part out of the first post. You will find it on my blog.

cheers

I also can't critique because I'm drinking and have drunk.

In America we drink Absinthe right out of the bottle, because French is a synonym for gay. Not that gay's bad when I'm drunk. It gets me to the same place.

It's not winter, it's spring!

May Day was dark and gloomy.
May-eve was dark and gloomy, and I did something bad.

But I have wine and beer in abundance left over.

I'll get back to this poem, if I haven't drunkenly pig's-arsed it.

I don't think one post can do that, now.

Your second sentence nails it, the only difference being, that I include your name, too. ,-)

,-) re: French a synonym for gay: I'm so glad, I live in Germany bc here this synonym, does SO not apply. If you don't want French women I surely will. Je vous en remercie beaucoup pour ces mots. ;-))))

America was partly founded on the need to live somewhere where people could freely engage in hate speech and anti-everything propaganda without being intruded on by government and church. And it worked, America's a powerful place.

So far, maybe make the lyrics at the beginning of each part in italics. Don't have to, but I think it would look ok. And the asterisks, maybe take those out, since the notes are gone.

As to America's power. What can I say? ;-) Well, enjoy it then. As long you not invade France, i'm totally ok with that.

I am very impressed by America's gentle attitude comes it to torturing America's (whatever that is, btw) supposed enemies, and furthmore of the but what the fuck! Why should I care about what the US does or does not? What a waste of my life-time
You are right about the lyrics. What I will do, is use endnotes instead of footnotes. But what interests me more is if your former president is booz again or now. a personal thing (relapsing I mean)t would be only
an now Im totally confused now by mysefl bc I am not yet drunk enough to make some kinky kind of sense of anything.

I don't really like Americans as much as the American countryside. Though there's not much left of that where I am now. I don't know how many times I wanted to sing "American Woman" by the Guess Who, and mean it.
When I've got an American away from other Americans with me in the secluded American countryside, that's when I fall hopelessly in love all over again. And then I'm trapped again.

Do not get me wrong: I really like - how to put it : the ordinary people. I talk of course about the government, the big companies et.... I would think that you will know Backlash Blues (poem by Langston Hughes and sung by Nina Simone.
Or Mr Taxman by the Beatles I think, not really sure. But I mean the Junior Parker version. ... etc

the French women stuff was of course tongue in cheek. (with one and only one exception )one real love affair). but i am not yet able to type (today).

more later (hopefully)

I just noticed ;-))) this somewhat deteriorated.
Not that I dislike it, when this happens: I am just losing it. (It= the memory)
I just wanted to say that Lewis, some miles above, had a point when he wrote:" if you mean lay me as in sex and screw as in sex, I think it's best if you scrap one", he is correct there. Only thing is, I want them both: I insist on being layed and I want her to want to screw. Well if you read on ... wait, now that I try to remember: Damn, I can't recall if she let me touch her breasts. It is rather likely but the memory is not in my hands anymore. This is one of those moments I wish I had not been that greedy (smackwise). How's that gospel again: Precious moments? well, gone! I think she had a plan, too. But I could not decode it. When she turned to the mirror, lifting her breasts up and smiling at her own beauty, teasing me at the same time, this was the very moment when I knew the kick set in. So it was a celebration of life.
