Thank you all for reading my work and being honest about what I should work on, I appreciate it. Fact of the matter is.. I love writing, everything about it, every form, what it can make the person who reads it feel, what you can do with it, it is literally limitless possibilities when your imagination is involved. I am mainly an abstract writer though if you all haven't noticed yet, and honestly, if it doesn't work all too well, teach me how to write like a real poet, please. I'd really like to try. I can do haiku's, prose, storylines .. all that jazz.
Once again, thank you. I really enjoy this site.

that's all you have to do cody, try, and people will leave feedback. the hard part is learning what to use and what to discard, but you'll be okay with the attitude you have.

A real poet is someone who writes poetry; a
successful poet, on the other hand... Good luck writing and critiquing, Cody!

You're humble, and that's a great quality for doing well on here!
"We believe that we invent symbols. The truth is that they invent us; we are their creatures, shaped by their hard, defining edges." - Gene Wolfe
Ultimately you have to do all your work yourself.
And you have to help other people; because it's easier to let them help you, when you've shown that you can help them.
That way there's some kind of relationship, and you can experience literature, art and poetry, and not just diary writing, or confessions of madness.
Anyone that can read and write can write something meaningful and real and great. And everyone wants to do like that sometimes. And doing that is only meaningful and real and great sometimes. To get closer to being those things most if not all the time, you need to struggle with your attitude to and relationship with art and world literature. Then you have the adventure of struggling with your limits, and carving work right out of the known universe.
After that, you can go on to other "universes".

Billy and rowens have gifted you some gold Cody, insofar as writing goes. You really must do all the groundwork and build on that. Your interest and strong desire to write is a good indicator that you have what it takes to be a good writer, plus some of the very fine pieces you have written here so far. Sometimes you have to dig deep and you have shown you can do that.
