Hello Alden. I liked the language, the way it flowed, without quite knowing what you're on about - in the 2nd verse anyhow.
This would make more sense, I think

Before criticising a person, try walking a mile in their shoes. Then when you do criticise them, you're a mile away.....and you have their shoes.
