I always find different interpretations interesting. I could give you this one and let you go "ah, of course", but of course I won't because then that would close it off to your own meanings.

And as billy said, there's no requirement to understand everything absolutely to enjoy it (or not, as the case may be Smile).

That'll be my whiskers.

I think you could easily do without the 3rd verse.Though I like pop culture pocketbook prayer, I don't care for W-O-R-D-S.
Why not "fade into yesterday"? fade/wave.
Feels like there's a word missing at the end of the poem.again?

Thanks Ray... there was perhaps more beached-whaleness than Kate Bushicity here originally, but whatever you take from it is going to be correct. Typically, the third verse is the one that's most important to what I was thinking in the first place so I'm attached to it (I already deleted two other verses shortly after posting, because they annoyed me!) -- without the third, though, there's no context and it's just a jumble (in my head anyway). Regarding left v fade, I intended left as the direction rather than a verb. I know the grammar is mixed up so parts of speech are not immediately apparent (and the perverse part of me, which is practically the whole lot, likes the ambiguity of words like "left"). I will think on the last line -- it's cumbersome and probably a bit too dramatic now, thanks very much for your input.

Dale, you and I must know very different old outback blokes!
It could be worse
