The law in Texas also states the parents are legally responsible for the child. The judge should not have been able to do that, but I think judges just making stuff up as they go happens frequently because no one will do anything. Of course the law is now changing. It appears debtors prison is making a comeback. After years of credit card companies making it easy to get a card, which they continued to raise the limit on until the person lacks the ability to pay, then they jack the interest rate way up and begin adding penalties. Now if you owe more than $10,000.00, they can sue you, garnish your wages and send yo0u to prison if you fail to pay. However if I loan someone some money and they don't pay it back, I am out my money for being foolish enough to loan it to them. My question is, why should companies have more protection under the law than individuals?
