Gosh, if we let that stop us, none of us would write poems
about anything under the sun. And as they say: Fools rush in
where angels fear to tread and nothing makes a fool faster
than love. Besides, it's getting close to Valentine's and,
truth be known, love poems are my very favorite type of poem
so it doesn't matter how many times it's been said. Wait, come
to think of it, by that sort of reasoning no one should bother to
fall in love anymore.

I'm swerving off the light and breathy topic, but if Leanne can
(quite beautiful poem by the way, difference noted, food is always
a relevant metaphor [all those shiny fused-mineral references, on
the other hand, are a bit hard, love upon reflection(s)]),
then I can too:
< forgotten >
some sort of song is coming out
my next door neighbor's window
and i find myself singing it
not knowing it or anything
just singing it
it mentions you
it mentions you again
and the chorus answers me
as my heart used to
the one i've forgotten
the one i'm embarrassed to talk about
sings along reminding me of you
of how we sang
this song
forgotten
like my heart
