Spot the difference

i. In Love

Brightly polished counter top refracts
bon bon promises
larger than eyes should stuff
into a rumbling belly

but it tastes like pixie dust
going up, up, up
until you’ve forgotten the ground

ii. Love is

the cool kiss of ceramic tiles

the solid porcelain comfort
of knowing
whatever must be purged
will be flushed away with only a trace
of ocean-scented blue

the shh that knows
you shouldn’t have
but doesn’t say it

the crushed grass
that cushioned your fall
It could be worse
