I think I would make a good proof reader....I am anally retentive when it comes to caring about spelling and grammar mistakes. My husband has had to drag me away from posters in the doctor's surgery (for example) as I've taken out a pen to correct spelling mistakes etc..

Of course, this does mean that I am fair game for everyone to jump on me with hob-nailed boots when I make errors, as, of course, I do.

Minute fonts can be a bugger. I read this once online 'People with small ears have trouble parking' I read it out to my dear one, saying 'I didn't know that. How strange! I wonder why that is?' Of course, on closer examination 'ears' became 'cars' - but it did give us a giggle.

My elder bro had dyslexia but my sister, younger brother and I all had no problem. Poor chap he struggled hard to get on in life. He succeeded by sheer determination. As you have done, no doubt.

I loved 'crunching crickets', too...for the alliteration and the image created (what a horrible thing to say, Jill, poor little things)
Edit - I think your 'crunching crickets' are calling out for a Haiku!!!!I can't write 'em.
