The Novice Forum is for people new to poetry or learning new styles/forms. Critique there will be gentle but helpful.

I'd just like to reiterate that we have a variety of different fora here, for different purposes. Although it might take a while to find the best fit style of comment for each forum, a good way to figure it out is to look at the posts already there and see how others are responding. This is not to say we encourage homogeneity in any way, nor that we want people to just repeat what's already been said. We revel in the fact that each member has a different background, style and set of knowledges. At the same time, we ask that everyone respect the original post in a poetry thread and try to provide feedback that will be most suitable, especially in the Novice Forum. I'm sure those of us who are more experienced remember what it was like to start out and in some cases be given a baptism of fire, but that sort of thing is readily available on other sites. What's less common -- and something we pride ourselves on here -- is a mentoring attitude, where beginners can have their mistakes explained to them, receive valuable suggestions for improvement and generally not come to feel that poetry is a craft they can indeed learn if they want to put the effort in, without being ridiculed or having their ignorance highlighted too harshly.

Do you mean to have 'not' in the antepenultimate line?
