this morning I sat in the lounge
with the air conditioner on full blast
and the curtains closed,
badly scrambled eggs sloshing around
with metallic tasting bacon
in my stomach.
earlier when I bent down
to pick something up off the floor
I worried my knee cap might pop out of place.
somewhere a 16 year old boy
is fucking his girlfriend. down the road
2 18 year olds are playing PS3.
I look at my hands. wrinkled and brown.
in 5 days I'll be 20. I feel like a relic
from the blitz.
