Icebreakers are required to clear a path for the ferries between Copenhagen and Oslo.
This is the first winter since 1987 that the Oslofjord has frozen over.
The entire Swedish west coast is closed in by ice.
Copenhagen is iced in as well.
On the west coast of Norway, the city of Bergen is having the coldest winter since 1942.
Se the current Scandinavian sea ice chart here: http://wms.met.no/icechart/
that records get broken can actually be an indication something is wrong or it can just be an anomaly also. some places being colder in winter and warmer in summer is a point climatologist make. what happens is so much melts in the summer that even a hard winter doesn't freeze what was melted. 20% of the ice shelves melt 15% re freeze. it been increasing each year.
