will it ever happen; read this:
experiments are now being done that compresses atoms together instead of splitting them apart as in a fission reactor.
i think eventually (if we live long enough) we'll sort it out, maybe in a hundred years or a bit less, but i can't see anything up and running properly in the next 50 years. nice if it was though.
