I put "shaving" in as a way of lengthening the line, but yes, I see what you mean, it is unecessary, and I'll remove it once I've finished this.
Concerning the "point of light" line, do you think I should describe it more, go into detail about what the light is? Would that make it less cliche?
And yes, the fingers getting lost line was metaphorical. The character's bush isn't that plentiful
