Turdle

My friend’s a turtle hurdler-
His hobby is to hop
Over tortoises; one blunder
Could mean a nasty plop

One day a turtle burglar
Broke in his turtle pen
But he couldn’t hurdle turtles
Like a turtle hurdler can

He tripped and split his head in two
And died there on the spot
The turtles were aghast, a few-
Suffered from shell-shock
