Sentience and free choice is quite special with humans because of how far we can take it with our powers, specifically our understanding and intellect. A dog could do very little with his sentience, whereas us humans can sit around pondering the concept of god... and even rejecting it. What we did with our sentience is remake and destroy the world to our whims, a power which we though only god had, or which we only blamed god for.

Guess to make a long point short, a simple dog could never, ever have come up with such a fantastic screw-up equal to the church Smile
