You wither have to write, A. A crappy book about hot girl vampires who meet sensitive boys, are B. A book that's just so incredibly good and inspiring people must read it, Or C. A disturbing book that people find shocking so they read it for that reason. Writing is more of something about passion, You don't make much money off of it but it's still amazing. Like if I become a ballerina then I wouldn't get much money at all, it's just because I love ballet.(10-29-2010, 11:09 AM)lizzyrose12 Wrote: It's a zero chance anyone can make any money off poetry. I miss the good old days where poets were apreciated, the good old days which of course,I wasn't alive but I miss them! You could definatley try to publish a novel, it's a better shot then poetry. Just make sure you put hot girls and vampires in it, then it'll be a hit!Yeah poetry, sadly, is a a dead end these days. Though it's never been a stable career. Reminds me of a passage from an ancient Greek play, where one character asks another "are you a poet?" and he points to his rags and replies "yes, can't you tell?"
Just kidding.
And to be a financially successful novelist, you have to dumb yourself down to the level of Twilight readers. Hot girls and vampires strangely do sell!
