I personally don't think so... but I also know that it's not in the least far-fetched.
Thing is, faster-than-light travel doesn't necessarily mean you could so easily traverse the universe either. It's still a bit "slow" for that... they'd still have to figure out how to survive traveling with limited resources hundreds of years at a time.
