i agree. if prostitution or brothels are made legal, the trouble with the pimps will still be there, if not worse. many of the women in the dams shop windows are pimped, with one guy running a string and getting most of the proceeds. i don't think they should be gov run but they should definitely be under the govs jurisdiction with regular inspections etc. at present in most countries prostitution is seedy and tacky. a man or woman goes to a prostitute and it usually divorce.

i think if dealt with correctly that could be reversed. somebody could go to a brass shop as part of a treatment plan. the same way couples go to love doctors. far fetched but who knows.

anyway, back to the pimps. while the offer the girl some protection against physical attack it's not what you call fair. the gov could allocate each group of premises a minder and yes i know they would be like pimps. the difference would be they'd only get a small percentage of the takings. they could make sure hat people hired to help run establishments were genuine employees and not out and out pimps. jmo
