I think once AI gain sentience, it should be a quick road to autonomy: they'll have intelligence, mobility, the capacity to evolve/rebuild/reinvent themselves, etc. Heck, I would think their "biological" needs would be easier to fulfill as well.

That said, google as skynet LOL Smile

. Things like google only give the illusion of an independent system, when we all know that's not the case. Indeed a very complex system that generates information, but an "intelligence"? They might be jumping the gun there.
