I can't tell you how many times I've been there (minus the murder part). Listening to small talk, watching people walk around in circles like Mii characters and wondering how they can possibly gain enjoyment from it. I am the speaker, but I don't find them likeable. Because, ultimately, the people entertained by bacillary pools and hot coffee are having a better time than I am toiling over metaphors and trying to make out with a Word document. I would love to be able to look betrayal in the face. The people described in this poem seem to have a lack of ego which the speaker interprets as lack of intellect.hell yes this is such an affirming reading tysm, made my day - I absolutely love Maine and you should go there immediately <3
Sorry I don't have more technical critique - I think the straight-forward language serves the tone and message here. I wouldn't dress it up. I've never seen a moose before. If your goal was to make me want to visit Maine, I think you've succeeded. Either that or I've grossly misinterpreted the piece.
