The Divine Comedy

Tbh as a peruser of lyrics, I generally expect more sound effects than what are offered here. The lack of rhymes makes me think that this would be a lowkey terrible song.

The other thing that sticks out about this is that it only name-checks Dante. "Absinthe" basically didn't exist during his time...."labyrinths" or "Hell of madness" don't have enough substance in them to count....no "fairies" or "chimeras" either, or at least none that I remember....and the overall themes don't even touch the abject horror of Inferno or the tearjerking reconciliations of Purgatorio. It makes me wonder why this is even titled "The Divine Comedy" at all, it's like naming a poem "Paradise Lost" when all it does is praise Roquefort cheese.

I don't get this one at all.
