That happened to me too, it didn't like something so I fixed it too quickly and lost everything, who knew? It's an older site with quirky ways to avoid the bots but it does it very well. Maybe we only want the very determined. 
Nah, it's just quirks, you'll find plenty of them around the site but magical places are allowed to be illogical, you'll get used to it. Shout if you get caught in a dead end, someone will hear you. Great place to walk with such a talented pup, welcome to the Pen.
