Unfortunately, not all of my neighbors are on board with this. One in particular will park at the end of her driveway and honk until I come fetch my chickens out of her yard.My neighbors have chickens. Thousands of them. I have biting flies and the smell of shit in the summer, both of which make you think twice about coming up for air in the pool. Not that I don't like chickens. I wouldn't mind a few, but I am fairly certain the outside cat named Tom would eat them and worse, as merely eating his prey is not enough for him: he must toy with it, display it, flay it, drag it, toss it and brag about it later. He is a shameless braggart. And yes, a sadist to boot. And always trying to drink the chlorine water. The feathers would surely clog up the skimmer.
My solution is to let them out later in the day as it gives them less time to misbehave. Unfortunately, the can see me through the kitchen window so everytime I pass, the rooster starts crowing like crazy - LET US OUT! he says
and the hens start squawking. I am ducking down trying to make my way to the coffee pot . . .
