I both get it and I don't get it and I can tell it's definitely my kind of joke.  Like, obviously there is some geordie expression that sounds like wordrums or some such which sounds like some other expression they have which makes it sound like they stole their stuff.  At first I thought it was some kind of odd ethnic joke - IDK.
