my accent at its extreme would kind of say 'poem' as 'perm'

I didn't think it would stump people but now as I write it out and say it I realise there is a massive difference in how most people would say it.

is 'perm' a thing in the US? a 'haircut' that gives you curly hair?

this was more difficult than I realised

I definitely won't be continuing this 'Jokes from a Different Region' format. 

A perm is definitely a thing in the US and I kind of got it but only because the barber did start to give you a poem and we are on a poetry group otherwise I think i would have been lost
