Hello! I'm a 55 yr old man who has loved music,  art and poetry for many years. I should be accomplished at all of these by now. Haha,  I'm not.  I'm abstaining from youtube for Lent, funny thing happens when you quit a nasty addiction,  you get back into old passions. I began playing bass again and started reading poetry again.  Bought a stack of new poetry books off ebay. Sadly I haven't written a darn thing - yet.  Which brings me here. A long time ago I wrote a poem about my Father. If you are familiar with Van Goghs "Starry Night," you  may have noticed the tiny Church in the town beneath Vincent's radiant, swirling night sky. I wrote the poem imagining I was a boy gazing out the window of that Church, sitting in Vincents world,gazing into Vincent's sky! 
I still have an active imagination. 
Just needs a good jump-start.

55 is a great age to start focusing on the real priorities and those just happen to be poetry!!  The toughest part about poetry is ideation (well, it can be pretty tough grinding  through it when the words don't feel like they will come) and you clearly have a poet's mind.  By some strange coincidence the wonders of the internet have brought you to the greatest place for both -welcome to the Pen!!

Hello. I am wizz. im a student and i like writing poems to express my own thoughts and feelings. they are usually quite personal but i'm trying to expand my styles and finding ways to write poems about more things. I have been doing free verse for a while (though not very well) and i decided it would be good to try different structures. might need some help with ryhme and meter and abit more clarity and direction of my poems.
