Hi all, I'm P. I'm a student based in England.

I have browsed through the different forums, and I am delighted to know that there is a wealth of literature for me to read. I particularly enjoy poems intended to be sung or performed, those with a lovely meter and musicality. Hence why I have watched the performance of The Raven in that one Simpsons episode a thousand times or so. 

I graduate from university this year, so writing has been quite a useful creative outlet for me as I navigate changing tides.

Looking forward to getting to know you all! You all seem so talented and welcoming, in equal parts.

Hi, P, welcome to the pen, so glad you're enjoying the site. If you're interested in poems with a clear meter don't miss the practice threads.There are clear explanations of forms with set meter, rhymes and refrains. Feel free to try them out and post them there, you'll see the skill level varies widely, that's the way we like it. I enjoyed reading your poem and will go back with comments, but think you might have fun trying a dizain, you'll see the thread in practice.
Anyway, enjoy poking around, lots to do and read. -ella

Hooray! I'm already learning. I'll research the structure of a dizain and give it a go in my free time.
