Goodness, we *have* been talking at cross purposes.  You do intend "towards" to be read as once syllable, and I just blundered on thinking it must have two.

Please return to the edit you liked (and, presumably, so did everyone without my odd twang of speech).  Didn't mean to be dogmatic, particularly when in error!

Nope, you made me look at it again and "out toward" isn't pleasant on the tongue, I like this little edit better so thanks.
And I do this for fun so have no problem with the time spent poking it, always learning something.
