This piece was of some controversy when it first landed at the site and I was just reviewing that and thought to re-read the poem.
Sadly, Erthona (Dale) will never read what I write but I remember reading this originally and I though it dull
Some thought it racist
Some thought it sexist
Some discussed possibly removing it (censoring it)
I think now, looking back, all of these takes were wrong.
Mine first, it is not actually dull, I think perhaps I was annoyed at the repetition though I went through a repetition phase for a while.
I think I was also possibly annoyed by what I perceived as male objectification.
If you compared this to something written by Byron several centuries earlier I think the observations here were fine.
Does it make you uncomfortable when you read it?
Is that ok?
Thanks
