A Penny Ode
#1
I've traced his face uncounted times.
Forever changing back.
Lost among historic peers,
or pilled in a stack.

His friendship earned is same as saved.
To save him I so pray.
I wouldn't trade him for a thought.
On any given day.

And when he tumbles to the ground,
I stoop to pick him up.
For if I ever need a charm,
He often brings me luck.

Spinning, tossing, flipping yet--
of gentleman, not many;
compare in cost of company to-
my humble Lincoln Penny !

A Penny Ode, in simple words.
Forever may he dwell.
To he who served, so many years,
We pay a sad farewell.

Just got inspired by reading another users Ode on here.
I had started this and so decided to finish it off .
I think the meter is mostly stable except the 4th stanza which i left that way to represent spinning etc...
Anyway, it is a little silly thing.
The Penny deserves it's poems.........
