As is often the case with @rowen's poetry, I stand in awe of the creativity and images. The third stanza by itself would shine, but it also fits. (I blush a bit concerning the metaphor of the man placing minature ships in bottles - oh, my.) So very good.
Then at the end, "at other times inviolate." Right?
