Leopardi's Complaint

starting to read leopardi now, a name i've barely encountered in more english-centered circles, and the idea here seems to be from him, or related to his work: is it? but i do like this piece, even if it's a little rough, and what's the point in suggesting how (to my ears) it would be smoothened, not when it's a seven year old piece in a non-workshopping forum....
