Eternal rest
may be
a million years
or less than
a second
between your last
and next
first breath-
plan accordingly.
Makes you think, though: the universe has got into its present state in, what, ten billion years with all the movements limited by the speed of light and those involving matter much slower than that? There scarcely seems to be time. I mean, a billion sounds like a big number but a year just isn't that long... and we can vaporize four trillion dollars in an afternoon when the stock market gets the wind up.
I tell you, it all makes eternity seem downright crowded for the events it's supposed to contain.
